Job Searching
So, I have to look for yet another job because my time is up at Barnes & Noble as seasonal help. Logo, mascot, and other graphic design freelance only covers a portion of my bills. I need to search even harder to find another job, one that I feel secure at.
I'm saying no to any staffing agencies for good. They only give you hope that you will find a stable permanent job but the truth is, the jobs will not hire you. I heard from many designers on DSVC.org that in order for a company to hire you after you temp there, they need to pay the staffing agency a percent of your hired salary. That lessens the chance a company will want to hire you permanently. I've temped all over the city so until my contract with the staffing agency I left is up, I can't be hired any of those jobs without them having to pay the agency. I hope I can still get a job anyways.
I've been searching for a whole year after graduation. If anyone knows a good job search website besides Monster and Careerbuilder then please let me know. I know I can find one.. and if not I'll have to do my back up plan of being a teacher but I'll feel like a failed artist. >.>;
On a lighter note, I've lost 10 lbs in a month on my Slim Fast diet and I don't even exercise. 
I'm going to join a gym tomorrow with a friend so I can lose even more. That will help on my job interviews if I feel more confident in my appearance. <3 I'm also learning ZBrush3 with the gnomon video I got on loan so if I figure out how to do it good enough, I'll post some 3D art. I would really love to be a game 3D modeler, animator, or concept artist. That was my dream job as a child, actually. I only got in graphic design because my school did not have a 3D art/animation program.
